What's new in release 12 - October 15, 2005
- On the surface, this is a cosmetic upgrade; most of the real changes are in the works of the database.
- Secondary structures are no longer available in .ct2 (i.e. CONNECT format with pseudoknots). The RNAML files contain all of the basepairs, and so include pseudoknots.
What's on the way ASAP:
- The first task will be to convert the RNAML files from version 0.1 to 1.0, and include the RNAML 1.0 DTD.
- There are lots of new genome sequences that need their RNase P RNA genes posted, and a slew of other new RNase P RNA sequences to deal with, a task that is underway. The protein sequences, especially those of eukaryotes, may lag or even be removed from the database.
- The secondary structures and alignments will need to be updated on the basis of the crystal structures. These will be very small changes.
- There are several crystal structures available that will be posted very soon.
