A report from the Microbiology club organizational meeting;

The next club meeting will be on Wednesday, January 14 at 6:30 in the Gardner Lobby.

Yvette's flyer was much appreciated. We hope to meet her at the next meeting to discuss designing a new microbiology mug and perhaps T- shirt. As Jasmine, our new Ag Life Representative, pointed out- as a club recognized by Ag Life council we must conduct some sort of money raising project for Ag Life.

We discussed a field trip microbrewery/tour to a location that ferments root beer. Greenshields used to have these, but they have moved to Cary and all their web info about these tours is dated (1999).

We discussed a service project that would introducing grade school students to microbiology. Several meeting participants knew teachers and said they would contact them. A hands-on exercise using the Glo Germ product was recommended.

Also discussed was scheduling talks to be given by Micro faculty that teach courses or offer internships or undergraduate research opportunities.

Then the meeting was called to a close.
